Conchi - Daimari
- Details
- Difficulty: Easy
Yesterday I had a new very informative experience during the walk to Conchi (Natural Pool) and Daimiri (Bay).
I often walk in the afternoon, because I have little trouble with sun and heat and the time in the afternoon often suits me better. Yesterday I started my hike at a quarter to three. The planned route was 7.5km long with a maximum height of 98m. A route along sand dunes, the Natural Pool and two bays, Boca Keto and Daimari. This route has less impressive rock formations. It turned out that there were many slopes in the route, which made it more tiring than I expected.

French Pass - Small Jamanota
- Details
- Difficulty: Easy
This time a route that starts at the Balashi Gold mill ruins and then runs through French Pass and back via the Small Jamanota. A beautiful route, but unfortunately the start and end are on asphalt roads and/or wide dirt roads. That takes more than 1/3 of the total distance. The remaining 2/3 part is very nice. Quite tough, because you gradually climb over a large distance to almost the top of the Small Jamanota. The highest point of the route is 90m.

Rooi Lamunchi via Sero Alejandro
- Details
- Difficulty: Easy
I downloaded a number of walking routes from Wikiloc and, as most of those routes pass through Arikok National Park, I also bought an annual access pass for the park.
On Google Earth I had seen that there was a path from the Seru Alejandro to the route of Rooi Lamunchi. That meant that I could reach that route from the place where I stayed without needing the car. But it meant an extension of the route by another 5 km.

Sero Arikok

- Difficulty: Moderate
- Total distance km: 5
- Terrain: Hilly
- Duration (hours): 2
This was our first day of hiking during this vacation. On our way to Parke Arikok we first visited the Donkey Sanctuary.
In Parke Arikok we climbed the Sero Arikok, the second highest mountain in Aruba. The view from the top was very nice. On the top also the aviation beacon can be found. De real top of this mountain is a bit past the aviation beacon, so that was my second target here.
On our way to the top we passed several trees that looked like Dividivi; all bent by the wind. Acutally most of these were not real Dividivi trees, but Mata piska, Iliba and Wabi and in the end also a real Dividivi.

There were a lot of plants along the route; sometimes they have labels with the names but not all names are correct. Possibly the original plants died in the meantime of they are overgrown by other plants.
There is no warning for the Bringamosa, even though these nettle plants are growing close to the path.
